You'll also find Myrtle Beach versions of famous restaurants like Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood and The House Of Blues.
There are many popular annual festivals and events unique to the Myrtle Beach area, starting off with the Canadian-American Festival in early spring. The annual motorcycle rallies and the Little River Blue Crab Festival rev up the summer in May, followed by the Sun Fun festival, Myrtle Beach's famous festival crowning Miss Sun Fun and Miss Bikini Wahini each year.
Smaller festivals continue throughout the year with the North Myrtle Beach Christmas Regatta, a boat parade of lights and celebration on the Intracoastal Waterway, signalling the beginning of the Christmas season.
For many decades the Grand Strand was considered a summer vacation destination as well as a favorite fall and spring destination for golfers. For the past two decades this has been changing rapidly as the activities on the Grand Strand spread beyond the summer months, and local business which used to close in winter now stay open year-round.
